The 634th Tank Destroyer Battalion in Aachen, Germany

The following YouTube video is created from actual WW2 combat footage. In the battle of Aachen, the 634th TD battalion provided close combat support for the 26th Infantry Regiment (part of the 1st Infantry Division). These units fought German positions and soldiers block by block. The effort required the use of M10 High Explosive shells and .50 caliber ammo at an extraordinary rate.

Pfc Frank Nogales was one of the supply drivers that worked around the clock delivering ammunition to the M10 TDs from the supply base outside the city. German gun fire was a constant threat to the trucks and drivers bringing the much-needed shells and ammunition.
